Ever wondered how to calm down a child who has so much energy she or he constantly run around, and get into things like the what-nots in your curio cabinet? I found that remote control toys often give kids just the right distraction. An RC model grabs their attention, and keeps them busy for hours.
Not long ago a nephew needed someone to watch his two year old son while the nephew was at work. His normal babysitter wasn’t available that particular day. I volunteered for the child to stay with me that day.
Since I spend my day in my home office I figured the child being here would cause no problems.
Turned out I wasn’t exactly correct in my figuring.
At my age dealing with a child as young as two is an activity that last happened a great many years ago. And that kid was into everything soon after my nephew dropped him off.
I turned the television on to a cartoon channel that aired a show he said he liked, and figured that would keep him occupied. Another error got into that figuring also.
I kept hearing noises that didn’t seem right. With every noise I left my office to check things out, and found the boy into one or another place he shouldn’t be.
Not having children in the house for some time I have a collection of souvenirs and items of memories all around the living room. And those things proved a big attraction for a two year old.
Having left my office a number of times within a couple hours, and finally realizing that I wasn’t getting anything productively done, I decided to try a remote control toy. I wasn’t sure if it would work especially considering the grand failure of the cartoon idea.
I brought out a miniature RC monster truck, stuck some batteries in, and gave him the controller.
All I heard for the rest of the day was the sound of that little electric engine as he drove that truck all around the house. He lost all interest in my souvenirs thankfully.
His attraction to that monster truck was very welcome. He played with for hours, and I was able to get some work done.
Not only that, but the truck served as a great advertisement for me too.
My nephew had his six year old daughter with him when he came to get his son. She immediately wanted to play with the truck too. The nephew was so thrilled by how the monster truck got all of his kid’s attention he asked how he could get one. I was more than happy to give him my http://remotecontrol-trucks.com website address.
Now I know how to easily keep a two year old boy occupied for hours at a time.
I did have to take breaks to charge up the batteries for the truck. That particular model charrges from the controller, and takes only a few minutes.
But those breaks weren’t near as often as rushing out of my office to protect my souvenirs. And nowhere near as stressful because I wasn’t worried about him breaking the truck. It’s a tough little monster.
If you have a youngun who’s very active, and into things you don’t want her or him into try introducing the child to a remote control toy. It might make for a pleasant day for you.
